Something which I have occasionally had problems with ever since Windows 95 is sometimes accidentally setting the screen resolution to a frequency or resolution which is not supported by the current monitor. I’m not saying that there aren’t ways to get back to a previous resolution, but if you find that the system doesn’t automatically revert to the previous resolution and frequency when applying the new resolution, the option to reset it during reboot is inconsistent to appear at best and unfortunately adjusting the resolution while in Safety Mode doesn’t save those settings to when you reboot again in Normal mode.

What I have always wanted is a keyboard shortcut to cycle upward or downward through other resolutions until I can see what I’m doing again. At the very least, a keyboard shortcut to jump back to a safe resolution like x or x at a medium frame rate like 60 hz would be appreciated, but I really do want to be able to cycle through different resolutions in both directions.

Additionally, it’s important to consider multiple monitor setups, so this feature request probably calls for its own menu and keyboard shortcut. A Cortana command to accomplish this with voice or a gesture to accomplish this setting via touch would also be greatly appreciated. This thread is locked.
